Today’s release of iPrompts® v1.2 offers another giant step forward in the revolution of picture-based communications. In addition to the several hundred “starter” pictures and illustrations included within iPrompts®, the app’s Library searches now optionally include results from the Internet.
For example, an iPrompts® user who searches for “bear” may be presented with locally-stored results (e.g., stock images for “bear” and “polar bear”), and also with top Web results. The feature expands the pool of available iPrompts® content to include billions of useful pictures indexed online.
This new feature provides tremendous flexibility to caregivers. Want to create a step-by-step “How to make a pizza” visual schedule? Or offer a choice between favorite baseball players? Or set up a visual countdown timer for just about any activity? It’s a snap to add almost any type of picture to the powerful visual prompting templates included within iPrompts®.
When a stable Internet connection isn't present, users may turn the feature off, so that only the "local" iPrompts® Library is searched. This is done by exiting the app, selecting the main "Settings" icon of the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, scrolling down to "iPrompts," and then sliding the switch to the "OFF" position.
Version 1.2 is available as a free update to all existing iPrompts® users -- just visit the App Store, and download the new version!
